The importance of storytelling in digital marketing can’t be reiterated enough. It’s what drives the audience to connect with your brand and find your products or services more appealing. Therefore, it only makes sense to infuse storytelling with your email marketing. This is because one has formed the foundation of human interaction for millennia while the other is the most common medium for sharing information in this day and age. But what does storytelling in email marketing look like?
If you were greeted by your name, shown to a reserved table with a view, given a tailored menu and a complementary wine of your choice every time you went to a restaurant, how would you feel? Most likely, very special. It would make you want to go back again and again, wouldn’t it?
The idea that this restaurant appreciates your business so much that they’re willing to go out of their way is enough to make you even want to tell your friends about it. So wouldn’t the same formula work in the digital marketing world?
It’s one of the biggest brand-building events of 2015, and has attracted a considerable audience already – over 3500 guests and counting. Set to take place from the 8th to the 11th of September in Cleveland, Ohio, the Content Marketing World convention is not to be missed. Last year’s event drew considerable admiration, as keynote speakers delivered unprecedented presentations, while attendees where equipped with content marketing resources and an environment to network.
So what does the 2015 Content Marketing World convention have in store for us? Even if you’re not physically attending, everyone in the digital marketing world has a lot to gain from the convention. Here are a few highlights you can expect.
“It’s fine to have social media that connects us with old friends, but we need tools that help us discover new people as well.” Ethan Zuckerman
We’ve come a long way from expressing how sad we are on status updates to sharing delectable dishes using filtered images and mocking people falling off skateboards through looping videos. Social media’s leap forward has been astounding in the last few years, connecting millions of people from different geographical locations, who want to see something different, and presenting branding opportunities for businesses.
We’ve already mastered sending images that can be viewed for a short period of time and then automatically deleted, so why not broadcast a base jump off a cliff as it happens live? There’s no doubt that livestreaming was the next step forward, and Periscope is the tool to get it done. But what/who is the new kid on the block and should digital marketers be excited?
